Tired of eating the regular fried rice? It’s time to surprise your taste buds this festive season.

We have shared several rice recipes, but this one stands out from the rest. The purple cabbage chicken fried rice contains all natural ingredients that supply nutrients to both children and adults. It takes less than 30 minutes and is a great way to use up left-over rice.

Without further ado, here’s how to prepare purple cabbage fried rice:

Ingredients:

One small or 1/2 large purple cabbage

One large carrot (1 cup) peeled and grated

One medium onion (1 cup), finely diced

4 tbsp Nosak Famili Vegetable oil

2 tbsp soy sauce

3 cups cooked rice

1/4 tsp salt to taste

1 kilo of chicken

String beans

Minced garlic

Pureed pepper

Pureed ginger

Oyster sauce
METHOD:
1. Pour oil into a frying pan, add chopped onions, sliced cabbage, grated carrot and stir then let simmer for 2 minutes.
2. Sauté over very high heat for 7-10 minutes until cabbage is wilted and starting to turn a little golden. Stir continuously, so it doesn’t scorch to the bottom of the pan. The veggies will shrink down to about ⅓ or ½ of their original size.
3. Add ginger and pepper, and then stir.
4. Next, cook the chicken for approximately 10 minutes.
5. Add the minced garlic and leave to simmer for a while.
6. Once the chicken is ready, add string beans, carrots, and oyster sauce, stir then let it boil for 2 minutes.
7. Next add the cooked rice, 2 Tbsp soya sauce and season with salt to taste.
8. Mix fried rice well, making sure that all of the ingredients are evenly coated
